![]() The boost gauge takes it's reading from the MAP sensor (mounted on the heater case on the right side of the truck (a hose to the inlet manifold and a three wire connector - it is mounted on the little bracket held to the heater case by three nuts). Shouldn't having the MAF sensor unplugged do something? Anyone know how much a MAF sensor and VGT Solenoid cost? I have to figure out something because without that extra 5 lbs of boost my exhuast temperature gets real high under heavy loads. So what gives? I have been driving my truck around for about two weeks with the MAF sensor unplugged and no engine light or codes. Did not set the engine light and when I hook up my code reader there are not any trouble codes. Truck runs the same, no effect on the boost, still three to five pounds lower then it should be. Now here is the problem, I unplugged the MAF sensor and it did nothing. Dealer won't do anything without a code being set, so I unpluged the MAF Sensor in order to set a code so the dealer would replace it and determine if that was the problem or not. Based on recomondations from this site it is probably either the MAF sensor or the VGT Solenoid. Recently been having trouble with boost pressure being about five pounds lower then normal. ![]()
